Recently a family friend gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby girl!  Baby showers are such a special way to celebrate a new arrival, but it is often difficult to know what to give.

When our children were young and our friends had baby showers for us,  I remember one very wise lady in particular, making a hand stitched birth announcement for each of our children.  She did the same for every baby shower she attended and in this way was prepared with a  plan and resources as each new baby arrived!

As I began my framing business four years ago I began thinking of a framing related idea that could be made for each baby that arrived in our area.  I wanted to come up with something that was in part practical and artistically pleasing to the eye.

First of all I wrote a lullaby for the special arrival

scored the song using software; Finale

I took a photograph of the baby with my digital camera

put picture and music together using Adobe Photoshop

Print came out with mauve hue

I chose a moody mauve mat, and a pewter frame, also

added a white fillet inside the mat

O drew on the mat with a white pencil crayon,

blossoms, as the word was a lyric in the lullaby.

I also chose to print the title in white pencil crayon.

Before I even began the framing process, I recorded the lullaby on Garage Band software and burned a disc to accompany the frame.

You can also make a professional label for the disc and cover jacket with Avery products found in your local Stationary store.

In this case I used the same print I framed to make a label and jacket.
